Update: Pharmacist Gets Two Years in Prison

In an update to a February 16, 2023, story, Ronald A. Beasley was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in a scheme to defraud Medicare of over $1 million in prescription drug benefits. Read a Department of Justice press release.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, he and his co-conspirators billed Medicare for expensive compound drug creams that they never actually purchased or dispensed; instead, they provided Medicare patients an inexpensive compound drug cream not covered by Medicare.
