Home health company owner Miguel Angel Contreras has been ordered to serve a 45-month sentence to be immediately followed by one year of supervised release for his conviction of conspiracy to commit health care fraud. Contreras, an owner and administrator for Sambritt Home Health LLC, was also ordered to pay more than $1 million in restitution. As part of a plea, he admitted he forged and/or caused others to forge physician signatures, knowing the physicians did not authorize the need for home health services and/or that the beneficiaries did not need or qualify for home health services.
