Doctor Sentenced to Seven Years in Federal Prison

Moses deGraft-Johnson has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for committing health care fraud, conspiracy to commit health care fraud, and aggravated identity theft. Court documents show that he performed hundreds of unnecessary, invasive surgical procedures. He solicited his victims by establishing relationships with churches, nursing homes, a hospital, and an outreach organization. He was also ordered to pay almost $28.5 million in restitution.
